To Russia, with Karina

KARINA POGOSIANWe sent Jay Tyler and John Terrey packing to Moscow last month for the broadcast conference there, and sent along a very special translator.

Karina Pogosian left the then-Soviet Union as an electrical engineer in 1991 and returned to the region again late last year for a broadcast conference there. A technical documentation specialist for Wheatstone, she accompanied our Jay Tyler and John Terry as a translator with the goal of increasing the understanding between broadcasters in Russia and our sales engineers. “It was good to be back and to meet broadcasters from the home country who knew about us,” says Karina.

Karina grew up in Baku in the Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan, and arrived in the United States with her family as a refugee during the fall of the Soviet Union. She began working for Wheatstone 16 years ago, about the time we made the move from Syracuse, New York, to New Bern, North Carolina.

Gauging by how well the show went in Russia, Karina will be putting together quite a few technical documents for new WheatNet-IP audio network installs there soon.
